Style and beauty have become one of the most talked about topics in books in the last few years with fashion and beauty bloggers on the rise. And what is great is that they are amazing books!! I couldn’t wait to read books like Lauren Conrad’s Beauty and Style, Victoria Beckham’s That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels, and Everything in Between and Learning to Fly: The Autobiography, and Cupcakes and Cashmere’s Cupcakes and Cashmere: A Guide for Defining Your Style, Reinventing Your Space, and Entertaining with Ease. And thought, why read by myself? So every month, the girls here at Bodeoo.com and all of our viewers online will get to come together to read a book together in our very own book club, an idea I saw on Lauren Conrad’s blog. We will read books on fashion, style, food, beauty, fiction, and books other bloggers are writing. SO get ready!!
Here’s how it works!
I will announce the book we will read at the beginning of the month.
Then, over the next 2 weeks, we will read about half the book. Come back online and answer discussion questions on our blog. (I will post the questions.)
We will keep reading the second half of the book, the rest of the month.
I will post an RSVP post, where you will leave a comment to RSVP to the online chat, and release the date and time.
Where we will then get online into our chatroom (I will post the links ahead of time), and we will all discuss the book.
Sounds like fun, huh?
THIS MONTH, our first Book Club book is Lauren Conrad’s Beauty!
I chose this book because I have become such a huge fan of Lauren’s. She is such a role model for our generation! Beauty is all about learning new or refreshing your mind about what beauty is to you, finding your beauty style, learning about hair, make up, and how to take care of you, and then putting it into practice. Topics like exercise, hair care, skin care, make up routines, hair do ideas, and so much more. This is such a great read, I can’t wait to finish it.
Read Part 1 (Chapters 1-5) by Thursday, October 23, when we will have our first Q & A about the first half of the book.
It’s a fun and easy read. I hope you enjoy it! See you soon!
Are you going to join our book club? What books would you like to read?
