EDC Las Vegas 2013 – Barely recovering from EDC?! Thousands of people flooded Las Vegas for the annual electronic dance music (edm) festival known as Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) from June 20th-23rd. Though the festival takes place for 3 days at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the city and people have welcomed EDC week. EDC week includes an edm conference at the Cosmopolitan, plenty of pool parties and club nights filled with the hottest talent in the industry.
This year’s main event drew an impressive crowd of over 345,000 people! (examiner.com) Examiner.com also noted: “Centered around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, EDC 2012 was North America’s largest music festival and boasted nearly 30 full-sized carnival rides, seven stages and 450 theatrical and dance performers.” I have been attending EDC since 2010, when it was last held at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This is the biggest one yet and unfortunately I don’t see it returning to LA due to the festival’s expansion.
The talent, stages and fireworks shows were all impressive. Oh but just like every summer music festival, a lot of attention was put into the fashion! There was no shortage of neon, daisies, high-waisted shorts, body paint, crop tops, and tutus! Take a look at some looks from EDC:
These gals went for a more subtle look, yet still uber cool! Love the vintage Sailor Moon tee!
I was lucky enough to meet them at an event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel that Saturday! Liv and Mim are so sweet and always know how to put on a show! Check them out nervomusic.com
This annual edm ceremony draws in people from all over the world! Here are some notable celebrities. Former Girls Next Door star Holly Madison is engaged to and has a daughter with Insomniac’s founder Pasquale Rotella. Here she is wearing a colorful outfit that is nothing short of sweet.
Paris Hilton is also a fan of the festival. Her yellow and white daisy outfit is super awesome and of course theme-appropriate.
You can relive some of the experience by listening to most of the sets here.
Remember that these festivals are built for creating wonderful experiences! Here is a wonderful recap video made by a fellow “headliner” -that’s what Pasquale calls his festival attendees.
