Our beauty tools see so much day to day action that it can be easy to forget to clean them. We need to though so bacteria doesn’t build up and cause an infection. So here is how:
Nail Files: Emery nail files after every 1-2 uses. All other files: 1 year or less. To clean, place them in a cup of hot water and antibacterial soap, scrub with a toothbrush and let dry.
Nail Clippers: 5-10 years as along as they stay sharp. To clean, put in water with soap, and let them sit for about 10 minutes. Then run them under skink water for a few minutes. Rub rubbing alcohol on them to disinfect them, and dry.
Nail Buffers: 2 months – 1 year depending on the quality. You can’t wash paper buffers, you have to throw them away. Block buffers you can clean by washing in warm water with soap and scrub the dust off with your fingers. Run it under cool water and let dry.
Loofahs: 1 month. Why? They can hold bacteria and grow new bacteria easily.
